Sylvester Stallone biopic ‘I Play Rocky’ was the first runner-up for the People’s Choice Award at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), coming in behind ‘La Bola Negra.’
The Peter Farrelly-directed film received a standing ovation following its world premiere at the festival, with its star Anthony Ippolito, who plays Stallone, getting multiple rounds of applause.
The film follows Stallone as fights to sell the script and play the title role in eventual best-picture Oscar winner ‘Rocky.’
After its festival run, ‘I Play Rocky’ is set to hit theatres worldwide in November.
